Alright... I usually don't post on "current events" but this hit my heart and it hit close to home. Marcus Luttrell lives in my town here in Texas. He's a war hero and if you've never heard of him, I absolutely insist that you pick up his book, "Lone Survivor." He is a SEAL and while fighting in Operation Iraqi Freedom, his entire team was killed by the enemy. He watched it happen and was with his men while they drew their last breaths. Absolutely heartbreaking.
Well... last week, 4 punks decided to go have some "fun" and shoot and kill people's dogs one night. Sadly, one of the dogs killed was Marcus' recovery dog... a yellow lab named DASY. DASY stands for each of his team members who were killed in battle and himself. After hearing the gunshot that murdered his dog (Marcus doesn't sleep much these days), Marcus grabbed his gun and maneuvered down his fence line to where the 4 guys were standing over his dead dog laughing about shooting her. He then placed the gun between the eyes of one of the guys where they then ran off into their car and tried to get away. Marcus then jumped in his truck and chased the guys for 4 counties. He finally edged them into a ditch where he held them at gunpoint until the Sheriff's officers got there. Once the police showed up, these jerks began to threaten Marcus' life stating, "You think what we did to your dog was bad??? Wait until we get out of jail. You've messed with the wrong guys."
